From Reconstruction to Resilience
I am 52 years old, and my body has navigated significant orthopedic change. By my early 30s, I had undergone bilateral knee reconstruction, followed by a total left hip replacement at age 48.
With more than 21 years as a licensed massage therapist, I have a deep understanding of the anatomy of pain. Living through major joint surgery, however, gave me a different perspective—one rooted in the emotional experience of pain, loss of trust in the body, and the uncertainty of returning to movement safely.
Today, I practice yoga five days a week and incorporate strength training into my routine. This level of function was not accidental; it was built through consistent, mindful movement and an informed approach to supporting a body with surgical history. I now share that process with individuals who want to move with greater confidence, stability, and long-term joint health.
